Turtle Conservation Experiences

Sri Lanka’s southern and western coastlines are among the most important sea turtle nesting grounds, with five of the world’s seven sea turtle species recorded in Sri Lankan waters. Our turtle conservation experiences connect you with the hatchery programmes and conservation initiatives that protect nesting females and their eggs from poaching and coastal development. Guided by conservationists, you will learn about the biology and life cycle of these reptiles, the threats they face and the work being done to secure their future. Visitors may have the rare opportunity to assist with the release of hatchlings into the ocean, an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
